Because employers don’t want to pay full time wages and full time benefits. Part time positions are cheaper to fill and can be vacated by starving out part timer in favour of another.

Apparently these employers don’t care that underpaid workers don’t/can’t buy as much stuff from them.

I guess that’s tomorrow’s problem. Today is all about squeezing another penny.

Why would they care? What their employees can afford to buy isn’t their problem. The only thing that matters is the line has to go up.

Aren’t they trying to sell things?

That’s not so easy when nobody can afford to buy.

I work for a company that manufactures a product that you can buy off the shelf anywhere in Canada. They do not give a shit if their employees could afford it, they have doubled the price per unit since 2019. Their target demographic is commercial buyers, or wealthy individuals.

The times ahead look to be possibly the toughest since at least WW2

america is descending into fascism and destroying the world order we have all grown up in WW3 has probably already begun, but will only be clear in retrospect once the histories are written

fortunately, we Canadians like each other and know how great it is here

      stay strong hosers
