Dunkin’ Donuts officially left the Canadian market in 2018, closing its last locations in Quebec. The first location is expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027.
Yes! I can boycott this american business on home turf once they arrive.
It’s as Canadian as any publicly traded company of that size can be. RBI is TSX listed and Toronto headquartered. 3G capital (the “Brazilians” people are referring to when they say that it’s Brazilian owned) while still the largest single shareholder, is down to a 26% stake.
Kay but there’s clearly demand for this garbage given how crap Tim Hortons has gotten yet still remains in business.
Yes, but that’s our garbage.
It’s not Canadian.
Second Cup and Robin’s are though.

Then we can go one level down and say it’s American because it’s part of Burger King.
Nope. 3G, the brazillian part of RBI, is the ones who bought Burger King before merging with Tim Hortons.
I still fondly remember Robin’s Donuts. There aren’t any around me anymore.
Tim Hortons used to be good
So did Dunkin.
Now they all sell old mushy donuts that are made hours before you can buy them at a central location.
I miss old Dunkin. If you walk into a donut shop and it doesn’t smell like donuts, turn around and leave.
Hardly anyone goes in there for donuts though. It’s all caffeine and breakfast sandwiches, with an occasional donut for the weak willed.
Why do you think they dropped donuts from their name?
Tim’s has blind loyalty, and right now we’re the most anti American we’ve been since 1814
Must be. Just like Dominos. Some people are fine paying for cardboard pizza or sawdust donuts.
The previous failure and departure from Canada DD did would suggest otherwise, and that wasn’t even in a hostile environment.
I’m commenting that Tim Hortons sucks now. Nothing more.
As long as you aren’t counting the honey cruller I’m with you
