This reminds me of when my Dad had me watch Old Yeller with him. We literally had a dog named Yeller that looked nearly identical and was the dad of my puppy. Needless to say I was a very traumatized 4 year old after watching it.
I had the exact same reaction after reading Where the Red Ferns Grow, I read that right after Of Mice and Men. No wonder I like Slavic media I’m just as depressive as that lot.
Nah, I’ll stick with kinship. The vaguely depressive Redneck field is more than enough already, don’t want to accidentally find out it’s a stacking effect.

Why? Because it makes you sad? Isnt evoking strong emotions a quality of a good movie?
