So cute! Consider checking their teeth regularly. When my cat was on wet food only she needed yearly dentals.

I don’t know if this is helpful or not since every cat is so different, but when I took in a stray, I was told that her teeth were very bad. So, every other day, I’d mix a tiny bit of dry food with the wet, and only for breakfast. She seemed very excited about the variety, and I was told that her oral health saw remarkable improvements!

I was told by the vet that my cat had the crappy tooth gene when she was young. I did yearly dentals for the first four years of my cats life when she ate wet only. After that I switched her to kibble breakfast and wet dinner and her teeth haven’t needed cleaning in almost five years so I’m quite pleased. She drinks plenty of water on her own so that’s not a concern and she actually chews the kibble which is awesome!

I’m so grateful to the cat that I found, primarily because I learned that I don’t actually like cats as a pet. She was so sweet and loved everyone, but I’ve found that every cat that I pet feels to me like a thawed chicken carcass with the world’s most delicate fur. I know that I’m wrong, but it’s absolutely a texture thing for me.

Also, she hated any other pets, and we have two dogs. Fortunately, some other family looking to adopt a cat actually wanted her, so I’m glad to know that she’s in the perfect home, and that this family is unlikely to abandon her like her first family did.

So glad that she found the right family. I know that rehoming gets a bad rap online but I don’t see a problem with it if you take the time to find a good situation for your pet. You can’t plan for everything and sometimes personalities are not compatible for whatever reason. It’s about what’s best for them.

I’m jealous, a cat that likes water! I have to put out sneaky water bowls so they think they’re ‘stealing’ my water so they drink more! The silly creatures!

She’s orange and a very mixed bag lol. Great at home but a total psycho at the vets - we give her all the drugs for that. She does drink water though :) I love the strategies that hoomans devise for their kittens. They are a pretty silly lot.

That’s been on my mind, going to talk to the vet about that and maybe try those little dental treats. Figuring this out as I go. I had to get automated wet food dispensers and went though some trial and error with those.

Not a lot of options but I ended up getting the Petlibro Polar. It stores 3 servings and actually refrigerates the food. 30 minutes before feeding time, it stops refrigerating the next portion although I bet the food is still a bit cold. My 2 kitties seem to have gotten used to it. There’s an app and the feeders have sensors so it will log when it detects that a cat is eating which you can view in the app. So far I’m impressed. Not perfect but I don’t know of anything better.

I use the petsafe timed feeder and just freeze the containers and put them out overnight. Has worked fine for years.
