The bigger lie is probably at the beginning of the article, from the CEO of Telegram.
[WhatsApp] reads users’ messages and shares them with third parties. Telegram has never done this — and never will.”
This whole article is exhausting to read because it appears AI generated, though. I’ve never seen somebody write that many short, “punchy” sentences in a row. For example, take a gander at this seven-word, three-sentence paragraph.
WhatsApp uses this. It’s real. It works.
I immediately noticed, it’s AI with the “This isn’t x, it’s y” sentence.
But here’s the thing: this isn’t a political fight. It’s not a he-said, she-said between tech billionaires. It’s a technical question.
To be fair, there are many humans who talk this way too, but point taken.
Even bigger than these?
- Yes, I’ve read the agreement, and
- I totally agree to all of it.
- I’m also over 18, pinky promise. 💖
- Also, remember me so that I don’t have to type my password again next week when I log in.
The tech industry is built on so many lies.
- Facebook can exfiltrate your data anyway (and have been, what other way can they make money off of what’s app)
- This article is clearly ai slop. Good grief this writing style is horrendous.
