    Yep, sure enough have seen this before. Way back before cell phones existed, this is what we had to do to put a phone on vibrate.

    Usually ya had to call a 1-900 number to ring it.

    Take the vibrator out and this is still a strangely uncomfortable photo. I can’t put my finger on it exactly. The weird squares, the clean majority of the wall vs the dirty phone.

      Probably mid way through a renovation. Or they just paid the painter and didn’t bother to clean them.

      Those squares are switches. Commonly use in Germany for light switches. I’d guess they might be buzzers for an apartment lobby, hence the phone with no number pad.
