    I think it would be nicer if they could make up something to celebrate their culture - too often flags can take on a blunt political significance, and lead to side-taking divisive bullshit. “This country good, this country bad” sort of stuff. Focusing on cultural aspects - landmarks, food, etc. - could be a way to foster cultural exchange rather than nationalistic competition

      I fully agree with you. It goes three ways:

      1. Cultural aspects play better alongside other drawings.
      2. It forces you to look at what really matters for you, instead of some symbol you’ve been drilled to accept.
      3. Flags are typically simplistic patterns, and there’s way more art on actually drawing something.
