I don’t think I want to find out how the juice tastes

Raw beets are an acquired taste, but once you acquire it it’s delicious!

Plus they’re all kinds of healthy, especially if you do any kind of endurance exercise.

Expands your blood vessels for better flow, increases red blood cell production, decreases muscle fatigue and helps control inflammation.

It’s pretty much like very mild doping, except all of the side effects are ADDITIONAL health benefits such as lots of fiber, high water content, vitamins and minerals that help with additional health stuffs 😁

Same. Taste buds can adapt to appreciate flavors they didn’t previously, though.

When I first started with beets as part of my post workout smoothie, I had to make sure that the other ingredients (banana, broccoli, lemon or lime, berries) masked the taste because I didn’t like it.

Now I genuinely love the taste 🤤

Huh. That’s all stuff I need! You’ve sold me, I’m gonna find some and smoothie em. I have taste buds that like strong tastes, that bit won’t be a problem. What do you find they go well with?

I’m no expert since I haven’t really experimented much myself, but my post-exercise smoothie has the following ingredients and you can adjust the amounts of each as you like:

          • Beets, of course
          • Banana
          • Lemon or lime
          • Broccoli
          • Berries (I usually use blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries, blackberries when they’re not too expensive)
          • water to make it blendable and lowering the viscosity

I usually use frozen broccoli and berries for practical reasons (keeps fresh, easier to use the amount you want, cold drinks are nice), but you can use fresh if you prefer
