Absolute neoliberal Carney disgrace. The only reason he‘s popular is that the Conservative leaders are devil incarnates.

I think it might be a deeper cultural problem than that. I suspect Carney appeals to more Canadians specifically because he is more neoliberal and closer to the Conservatives than his predecessor. Just assuming that people only like him because of Pollievre is, in my opinion, a bit dangerous because it glosses over the need for deeper cultural change.

Broadly speaking, we live in a democracy with a strong 4th estate, so Carney’s support speaks to the ideals of many Canadians. And THAT is the problem.

He’s also popular because the neoliberal corporatist propaganda machine has relentlessly brainwashed and indoctrinated society for decades. They’re still constantly glazing him and they’re never going to stop unless they find someone even better for them. If society starts getting its news and education from a media empire that’s owned and run by someone poor, maybe they’d have a different opinion. But wait, wouldn’t having a media empire make that person not poor anymore? Interesting, maybe tying money and wealth to success and power with capitalism is simply not a sustainable situation that inevitably leads to exactly this outcome? Nahh, that sounds like something a communist would say!
