    only apply to “subsidized or financed devices provided in conjunction with a wireless services term contract.”

    This doesn’t make sense, if it’s to prevent theft then why would it only apply to some phones?

      Because the phone technically still belongs to the company financing it out to a person until it is fully paid off, I suppose.

      Edit: My bad. I misunderstood the “theft” part. Thought it was people using the phone “stealing” the phone to go to another service.
