Google's AI summaries have reduced traffic to websites from the search results page and Reddit is reconsidering the benefits of the deal, the Journal said.
I still can access old not logged in which is interesting considering all I’m hearing on here. I’m not doubting but why am I getting around it?
And I agree, the reg interface is hot garbage, idk who could use that seriously. I can only use Lemmy “old” or I wouldn’t be on here. Be like Craigslist, don’t mess with something that works, right?
I don’t do mobile so I have no opinion there. My phone is a phone and SMS. Might use it to look up store hours if I’m not home. In fact in town I never have it on me, drives friends/family/work insane.
As for having an account I get ya, they have perm banned at least 40 of mine and the new system is effective, sort of. I have one active right now, its more to see if I could get around it and I did. I have 3 or 4 other ideas I would like to try if I was motivated and I’m not…
Oh I have a thought on forcing to the new UI, I have had to replace www. with old. on some links. Give it a try?

Here’s a reddit link of other reddit people talking getting login prompt if they try to use old.reddit.

Oh I wasn’t doubting its happening. I was wondering why I can still access .old when logged out?
And with that link I replace “www” with “old” and it goes to the old UI.
Maybe its RES? My plugins? I highly doubt both, but its weird.
I have RES too. Maybe cookie? I do have my browser delete cookies on exit.
No on this login in its all generic for browsing, thats maybe why. I’ll try my other machines/logins to see if it follows.
