For anything CLI related I use Micro.
What made you switch from Notepadqq to Kate? I’m currently still stuck on my Notepad++ bias too.
I reinstalled my system at somepoint and just decided to used Kate since I didn’t have NPQQ installed.
It ended up having everything I needed from NPQQ.
sudo apt install kate it is then!
