    Honestly, the only time local politicians should dabble in foreign politics is when they look at what works in other countries and why.

    Other than that, I don’t care about their stance on foreign affairs. I need them to make sure the public pools, parks and libraries get financed, the bike lane gets built and the trains run on time. I’m not expecting the mayor of my city no negotiate peace deals with Russia ffs.

      Some asshat edgelord filmed himself walking around school, “excersicing his right to free speech”, calling out that he supported ICE. I think he wore a sign too.

      Then the absolute megachad in the picture shows up, and the exchange went something like this:

      “I’m going to punch you now”
      “You’ll get in trouble”
      “Ok” 👊

    Perth is the only city in the world with a grass airstrip in its CBD.

    Langley Park, a stretch of reclaimed land along the Swan River right in the middle of Perth’s CBD, has been used as an airstrip since the 1920s. Pioneer aviator Major Norman Brearley used to fly planes in and out of there, and it served as Western Australia’s first commercial airfield.

    These days it’s not a daily operating airport — but it remains a functional grass airstrip used for fly-ins, vintage aircraft displays, and emergency landings. The Red Bull Air Race even used it as its base of operations from 2006–2008 when the race was held over Perth Water.

    According to Aviation Western Australia, it’s the only place in the world where aircraft fly from a grass airstrip in the heart of a city. It’s also heritage-listed, celebrating its 100th anniversary relatively recently.
