When I was a kid in the 90s, I kept thinking about the Power Rangers and how they were kind of gay, and I felt kinda gay, but they were kind of lame, and I didn’t wanna be lame.
So I got really into Star Trek in computers instead. I’m 47, and I’m confident that I made the correct decision. Star Trek definitely made me feel pretty OK about being gay, that’s for sure.
It was a long time ago. Difficult to remember. Plus, I was on a lot of drugs by then…
Edit: hold on, the show came out in 1993, when I was 14. So that’s not at all as creepy as you implied. maybe you caught it on reruns? Or you’re not in the United States, and it debuted years later in your country?
Ah, yes… 1993, the year I discovered the joys of smoking…

Ghouls
I’m 42, and I felt like I was too old for power rangers after Season 1.
You would have been close to 18 by the time the show debuted. I think I was 12 when it debuted, and outgrew it almost immediately.
Maybe that’s why they felt lame to you. It was a kids show, and you were old enough to be in the Gulf war at the time it was happening.
The production was so low. You could tell when the footage was reused from Saban’s earlier shows. Also, it kinda felt dated already when it came out.
