I switched to Mac about 15 years ago because I started writing iOS apps and you can only do that on a Mac. As a lifelong Windows user I was initially pretty dubious, but I soon came around. Now I hate MacOS and Windows equally.
You can develop the app (as in write the code) on any platform but Apple made it so iOS apps can only be compiled from Apple devices. There’s no particular technical reason I’m aware of just they’ve designed their proprietary compiler that way and haven’t released it cross platform.
That’s laughable. Windows does not demand 100% control over their system. Windows is a you think you can do it let’s see you go ahead and do it and fuck shit up. And when you do fuck it up you’ll have a much more difficult time fixing it. On Linux it’s a yeah go ahead fuck shit up Good luck here’s a log should be easy to fix it but you got to make it work in the first place. On a Mac it’s you’ll get it from this space install it in this way or you won’t use it at all.

Iirc, you can compile the code. But you cant sign it for the appstore without a mac.
