Unsaved progress? Laughs in rogue-like
Rofl it’s not rocket science. It’s the same reason politicians won’t fix schools. By the time the benefits are seen, they aren’t in office anymore, or at least at the position they were at. It’s the same reason all these stupid ass Republicans were jerking off to tax cuts in the 90s that saved like $25- $50 a year on taxes but defunded the absolute fuck out of schools. Guess what? Now you’re seeing what defunding the schools for your $25 a year for you. Kids have zero common sense or practical skills for solving just about anything. All the while they’re spear heading how bad public schools are and sending their kids to private schools as w tax write off. No shit, you took all their funding and SURPRISE they do worse, fucking shocker.
TLDR politicians only do things that happen inside their term. Otherwise they don’t get recognition.
sir this is a wendy’s

Low-key I think this comic expresses depression or how suicides tend to be contagious. Maybe I am projecting.
Its more that they realized theyre the simulation
But why is that bad and why are they so anguished to leave, too? See why I think what I think?

Meh, It didn’t seem like he had an active social life, he was staying up all night chatting with other human batteries.
This reminds me of when I got a Nintendo DS as a kid with Anno 1701 and you saved the game there was a message like “all previous data will be overwritten, do you want to continue?”. It took me some time until I realised that that is not a bad thing and actually intended.
Honestly, while replaying an old pokemon game, this shit is really starting to annoy me.
“There is an existing save file, do you want to overwrite it? All previous data will be lost. Yes/No”
It’s kind of insane when you think about it. Makes the saving process significantly longer and requires more button inputs … and 99% of the time, the answer is of course yes.
IMO, a much more sensible solution would have been to use the Player ID number that the game already keeps track of, randomly generated at the start of each new game. When saving the game, check if the Player ID matches, and only prompt for “are you sure you want to overwrite it” if the Player ID doesn’t match what’s in the previous save file. That way, you’d only have to deal with this prompt if you’re overwriting an old save with a new, different game.
In the case of pokemon, they do have trainer IDs, so its actually already 99% done.
Pokemon isnt exactly a streamlined experience. Theyre fairly clunky games if you play them without the nostalgia glasses on.
Get professor rowan out of my head, i fat fingered the x key ;(
The fact they have this in games that autosave every 5 seconds is annoying as fuck.
“Ah fuck, did it save or not? Now I gotta manually save, jist in case.”
Props to games that do this but at least say how much time has passed since the last save.
It’s especially stupid because temp saves on exit have been a thing for ages. It’s just dev laziness to not have them atp.
Heck, so many roguelikes ONLY have exit saves!
Oh Save & Quit, how I miss you.
As if I ever trusted that >_> Quick Save -> Save -> Check last savefile -> Save & Exit
That’s why you save a couple times BEFORE saving and closing, DUH.
And still hesitate when it gives you the warning again.
Oh, well I don’t want that to happen, so…
alt-f4
Stupid developers…
quit to the main menu
Fuck you, I wanna quit to the desktop.
Skyrim console: qqq
Even worse when the game has alt-f4 blocked. Got a bunch of batch scripts that kill specific games that pull that shit cause like motherfucker let me god damn leave in 2 button presses ffs
L for Windows allowing that in the first place
