Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not but IMO the whole concept of “support the visibility of opinions you don’t like” was doomed from the start because you can’t force people to play along with an alternate vote meaning (and the version this is an alternate to also wasn’t the intention behind the voting system, so there already was a drive to use votes as support of the idea rather than the discussion).

Also, if posts make it to all, then there will be voters who don’t even realize the community wants votes to work differently, even if they care about what the community wants.
