Heh, I’ve been abusing em dashes for years – even before LLMs.
But yeah you’re right. The “luddites” (not meant in the derogatory way) exist among many demographics. I’ve actually noticed an interesting dichotomy with many very skilled engineers who I greatly respect: Some have embraced AI and leveraged it to build some VERY cool things, while others still think AI is incapable of anything because they haven’t figured out how to get decent results with it yet. I don’t really see many in between those extremes.
One of them even handed a somewhat complex task to Claude Haiku (the model that generates the title of the conversation based on the first prompt), then determined that AI is just trash at everything 🤦🏻♂️

Luddites were specifically protesting the use of automated sewing machines because they could… take their jobs.

Honestly, I use Ai but very rarely use it, it’s good at a few things but not good at everything
