If you use a microblogging-compatible fediverse instance (Mastodon, Misskey, Mbin, possibly PieFed?), you can also generate a RSS tracking bot with @birb@rss-parrot.net to follow locally.
Here are the instances I have noted if you want to generate one for the guy, and worth noting Nitter instances have a tendency to time-out, probably to avoid scrapping, so you may need to cycle through them:
Nitter RSS pattern is https://nitter_instance_domain/user_handle/rss, e.g for the guy linked at the OP, https://nitter.privacyredirect.com/nmcmildotcom/rss.
There are browser extensions that auto-redirect links for a number of sites. Libredirect is the one I’m using
