We’ve always been tied to Texas refineries because Alberta hates long term planning and infrastructure investment.

        Not true.

Prior to Brian Mulroney and NAFTA, Alberta did not need to send basically all of its oil to the US for refinement. Vancouver used to have five refineries, all but one were shuttered thanks to him and NAFTA. The one that remains is the smallest of the set.

Its why the original transmountain pipeline was built to handle multiple products in both directions

Yes, I have to hope that is Carney’s green energy plan behind the pipelines. Once oil is done, we can replace those with water or some other product.

But it makes us less than Iran. At least they refine their own product. We ship it to the US, they refine it and then pocket all of OUR money.

Not possible. They’re waste at that point – or do you like water that you can set alight like in Flint Michigan?

Had we used rail, though, as if by magic, we’d have a usable rail system out of that oil pipeline.

The Art of the Deal!!! Honestly, if you could get over Trump’s smell, I bet he’d be fun to play poker against.
