    Israel is fucking psychotic if they think they could take on Turkey.

    Turkey has 10x the population and 10x the diplomatic pull. Not to mention any attacks on Turkey is an immediate and hard Article 5 trigger. The US may be compromised by Israel’s pedophile blackmail on Trump, but the rest of Europe isn’t quite so.

    Edit: also not to mention the defense pact made with a nuclear power, Pakistan, and a potentially soon to be nuclear power, Saudi Arabia.

      10x the diplomatic pull

      Outside of being a NATO member I don’t think Turkey has the sort of political pull that Israel has. Israel has literally been getting away with genocide for years now. Its functionally illegal to criticize Israel in many places.

          Israel could straight up attack Turkey triggering article five and several NATO members, including the US, would immediately back Israel. You can point out how stupid, irrational, and illegal that would be all you want, and you’d be correct, but its still what will happen. That’s the level of ideological commitment to Zionism we’re dealing with here.

      The rest of Nato won’t do shit if the US beefs with Turkey. Saudi arabia won’t do shit. Pakistan won’t do dick.

      But you are right that Turkey is no pushover, and they have their own leverage with the straits to the black sea there, which is the only reason they were brought into Nato in the first place I strongly suspect.

      The US is stronger but we have such bad leadership at all levels, attacking Turkey is unthinkable, but so was attackng Iran so go figure.

        You’re historically right, but I also suspect the US is in a much much more precarious position in terms of actual military power right now. Stronger still for sure, there’s a bunch of nukes lying around. But given the expenditure on Iran I think the reputation is carrying most of that weight

          Just like with Russia, the superpowers are not so super now that they’ve degenerated so far.

          To be fair Russia was always like this, and they’ve gotten their asses handed to them in both of the world wars, totally in the first, I think they lost like 5 million, and for a long time in the second, and they probably would have lost if Hitler didn’t overrule the generals and change objectives multiple times with winter approaching.

          But fascists and oligarchs and their ilk are just not great at running an effective prosperous country, or at running a war. They are quite eager to start them, but like Mussolini get their asses handed to them by much smaller and less advantaged marks. Mussolini got his ass kicked in Albania after invading it, the germans had to come in and take over. Then in Ethiopia they were losing too, until they started using poison gas on everything that moved. Which was outlawed internationally after WW1, along with a range of other things like the use of shotguns, (nasty wounds, especially when you use rusty nails and broken glass instead of lead,) I forget if that’s when they also banned the triangular bladed bayonets, that might have been earlier.
