It was neat, the few times i tried it out 10 years back. But Osmand is more performant on the phone than it was on desktop and has better features.

Remember to never try any new Google products for at least five years to see if they’re serious about it

This is another reason why I’m trying to move away from anything Google. They have a pretty good track record of shutting things down

Devil’s (literally) advocate: they also have released a ton of services. Having said that, I still miss Inbox (the alternative gmail app/frontend)

The text color wasn’t a choice; it was just a consequence of putting the preexisting QGIS logo over the preexisting meme background.

The meme maker should’ve layered a shadow or contrasting-color rectangle under it.

          QGIS logo:

While I am loathe to recommend a non-FOSS option, I have been really happy with GaiaGPS.

Yeah… I am also aware of Captopo too… GaiaGPS is one I looked at, and FarOut (based on info from Maddie and Tom: https://theadventuregene.com/australian-alps-walking-track/#navigation ) .

Google Earth Pro was 100% free for a while though, and I was more familiar with it. I used a OSM mapping layer on top
