Nah it was also pretty miserable in Fallout 4, though in that particular case it was moreso due to issues of bullet sponges rather than damage dealt. But Fallout 4 is also probably the worst of the 3D games IMO, especially when it comes to enemy health.
Fair, the settlement system is annoying. I also hate everything about MMOs, though, and IMO it’s diametrically opposed to everything that made Bethesda games good. And that’s before we get into how much of a mess the release was …
Oh no doubt. I just really fucken hate vanilla Fallout 4, at least with 76 I can kinda ignore the fact I’m playing an MMO and just be a fuck goblin in some random corner of the map. Also I kinda prefer the camp system since it allows me to actually place my base somewhere useful, namely on top of lead deposits for infinite ammo.
Though I haven’t played 76 in probably a year or two. Also Bethesda keeps breaking 4 for no fucking reason.
I was going to say on your last comment that I like the concept of the settlement system, but I don’t like the implementation. The camp system is so much better. First, it isn’t asking for you to babysit it. Second, it’s about utility, not chores. Third, and most important, it lets you build where you want. I want a single-player version of it in future games that let you place it literally anywhere, including existing structures. The MMO structure of 76 obviously means this can’t be allowed, but there’s no reason single player needs to prevent it. I just want to claim my own little spot and build a home how I want to.

Worse than Fallout 76?
Unironically yes, the leveled areas in 76 are quite a bit easier to deal with. Also I really fucken hate the settlement system.
