What’s New Responsive Window Layout When resizing Gajim to narrow widths, the window would often become very cluttered with little space left for what actually matters. Gajim 2.6 introduces a responsive window layout, which automatically adapts to changes in width. As the window gets narrower, elements are being hidden until only the chat is left. But you can still navigate your workspaces and chats even in the narrowest width. Have a look at the video to get an impression of how it works:

    Here’s to hoping all Linux apps follow!

    Also one thing i really like about wayland is that it makes no assumptions, the seat can be anything and even change. So a proper wayland application should work on both desktops and mobile.

    It is kinda strange… Gajim is incorporating all sorts or mobile first UI elements, while its devs insist on it being only a desktop client with no plan to support mobile form factors.

    I suspect this will result in an atrocity of an UI like Gnome, which looks like a mobile UI, but isn’t actually usable as one.

      when did they last insist that? possibly they changed their mind, until not too long ago there was not much linux phones out there to spend development time on.
