The movie in question must be from 80’s. The story revolves around dog fighting rings. There is a young girl who has a doberman that is a put to fight and reveals itself as champion but the girl doesn’t want him to fight and eventually die. The movie ends with the girl rescuing the dog.
I guess I should have pretended to remember the movie myself, and not admit to feeding the question to a LLM, to get modded up 🙂
OP could have asked Duck AI themselves but chose to go the human route. Humans did answer, some at least from their own memories since it has both a dog and John Travolta to help them remember.

Well, I used to do that too, because I believe in human contact. The last time I did this in a networking forum, I got copiously insulted for wasting the valuable time of networking professionals “demanding” explanations for free when I could simply ask AI.
So I heeded those people’s advice and I never ask anything on any forum anymore. I ask AI. AI usually gives me that kind of answer.
Me, I didn’t insult OP. And I was honest with the process: I asked AI. And if OP wanted the answer, they would have gotten it in seconds using AI. That’s the hateful world we live in today. Deal with it.
I understand your position, I respect your option, I did not downvote you but what I asked here exactly to have human feedback and perhaps spark some conversation on the movie.
The people that insulted you on the situation you related are wrong. And allowing that to go forward is allowing for human contact and relations to be devalued. Best answer for that kind of people is remembering them if they were always so knowledgeable and if they got their knowledge by themselves, alone.
People know what they know by taking other people’s knowledge. It’s been that way for millenia - standing on the shoulders of giants and all that…
But it’s over.
Here’s the thing almost nobody realizes: AI is that knowledge. It’s people’s knowledge, that people have posted on the internet, that Big Tech stole and repackaged into semi-clever digests of human knowledge called LLMs.
Technically, you can ask AI something and it will barf out somebody’s knowledge that was taken from them without their consent.
But we’ve lost the human contact and the human process of knowledge transmission. It also debases the knowledge you’ve received from AI: when no effort is needed to learn anything, nothing you learn has any value.
Yet the speed and ease at which you can get answers from the goddamn machine is intoxicating.
Asking other humans is a losing proposition. I totally get why you asked other people, but one day soon you’ll give up on that, because it’s just plain easier and faster to ask the machines.
And it’s really sad, it’s sterile, it’s inhuman and - most importantly - it doesn’t add anything of value to the pool of human knowledge anymore: the things you learn from the machine are a from a finite set of knowledge. The machines never add anything to the pool. So in the end, the machine basically arrest human development.
But the machines are intoxicating and you can’t stop them. Welcome to the terrible world built for us by the techno-fascists. You can try to resist it if you want, I’ve given up.
Don’t. By the reasons you stated yourself. Say no. And if the option is to remain ignorant or unknowleadgeable then so be it, for the reasons you so eloquently put forward.
