Any tips for finding subtitles TV shows and movies? There´s databases out there, but they don’t seem to have what I’m looking for.

Transcription is obviously better than subtitles. AI is a possibility to transcribe; I’ve experimented with local models and had poor results. Professional AI services are good, but I am extremely broke.

For various reasons, I prefer to d/l my stuff and watch it on jellyfin. I know if I were streaming my life would be easier in some ways.

Current target is Lastman (2016) in French.

I use Bazarr in my *arr stack for subtitles. If the file I download doesn’t come with its own embedded subtitles, Bazarr will pull them based on the preferences I’ve set.

    Podnapisi.net or Opensubtitles.com

If you’re a media player classic user, it has a plugin built in to fetch them from either of those. You just have to turn the option on. Alternatively, here is the fmhy section for subtitle tools and libraries which I used to find a couple rarer stuff

    Fmhy.pages.Dev/video#subtitle-tools

If you can find subtitles in a language other than the language you want, convert to srt, then copy them into a google doc, then use the translate option under tools to translate to the language you need, then copy to a new srt file.
