Im a skinny mfer and im the same. But for me it seems like its actually an early warning sign that you should really go find some food. I know because one time i was in the middle of nowhere and it happened and it was really bad for a while but then eventually my body went “well fuck, i guess we aint gettin any food in the short term so im gonna turn this off again to allow you to function again to look for food” At that point you know you really gotta lock in.

Yeah CICO is technically true but as a thin person myself people really do not adequately account for normal stress response. My body’s natural response to stress is anorexia (the symptom, not nervosa / the disorder). I don’t have better self control I just lose my appetite when I’m upset vs some people get hungrier. It’s not even necessarily a healthy response, if I got cancer or another serious illness I would really struggle to take in enough calories to fight it off properly. In fact old people with a lil chub survive serious hospitalization a lot more readily.
