Cigarette butts clog Seoul’s drains — about 12 million discarded daily, fueling flood risk during monsoon season

Yeah, they don’t fill up landfills… most of them never make it that far.

It’s funny, the only kind of mass littering that’s still socially acceptable is people just throwing their cigarette butts on the ground wherever they are. Fucking pigs.

I mean, obviously. Regardless, I managed to find enough humor in the concept to overcome my distaste for the medium. I’m pretty relaxed, and I don’t think that you’re my brother given I only have a sister. But congratulations if it is you, I don’t want to dead name you though.

I miss it so much. No joke I miss smoking.

However I will not pick up a vape. It took HOW MANY FUCKING YEARS, for us to have the smallest understanding of what it was causing. We are in no way shape or form in a position to know what vaping is truly causing inside the human body.

How cigarettes were being prescribed to asthmatic as a cure for asthma? The best filter was the asbestos filter, who fucking knows what similar shit is happening and being recommended in the vaping world that we don’t know the full effects of.

Nicotine is a stimulant, that’s why. It reduces anxiety and promotes bronchodilation. Helpful in the short run, but of course the long term effects of smoking will likely make it worse.

Modern asthma inhalers instead contain a mild steroid.

These cigarettes used belladonna leaves and no tobacco. Some similar (safer) stuff is used today for the same purpose

Time to bring back ‘Kent Micronite filtered cigarettes’ …

From March 1952 until at least May 1956, however, the “Micronite filter” in Kent cigarettes contained a mixture of crimped crêpe paper and compressed blue asbestos, the most carcinogenic type of asbestos.

I miss vaping, my mod broke on me last year after a good run. I am not too well off, and all the reusable ones at the local stores have a pretty high upfront cost I can’t reach bc I’m burning tobacco cigarettes. The vape is cheaper in the long run, I just wish I could quit tobacco long enough to get myself a decent refillable vape again.

I hate the feeling it leaves in my mouth, it smells bad to others, my lungs feel worse with tobacco than vape, and I scrounge for cig butts outside when I’m without. I’m winded bending over to pick them up.

I don’t want to quit smoking nicotine completely, I’ve tried. I just hopefully can make it a vaping habit again before my lungs give up on me.

    Signed,

An idiot who thought because vaping was significantly less harmful, got extremely addicted to nicotine, who will likely have lung problems to look forward to in future.

My father was one of those, which lead to a very happy accident. I tried to convert him to vaping because my mom had been complaining for years about how he stank. I got him a big vape, he’s too stingy to let it go to waste, but also hated vaping so much that he outright quit cold turkey, after smoking for 45 years and several failed quitting attempts, this was his trigger.
