      Nah bro. We were beating the immediate death toll from 9/11 on a daily basis, for weeks during Covid. Nobody gave a shit about that.

      We care about optics, not death.

      I worked for Marsh & McLennan back then and was scheduled to be transferred to the towers in November 2001. We lost 358 people that day, including a good friend who managed to call his wife after the planes hit to tell her he was ok and not in the towers. Then they fell. His deep baritone voice was the voice of our phone systems for months afterwards. He wasn’t even based out of NYC, he was just visiting the New York offices that day.

      That day stings me at a personal level and I was genuinely changed by it, but I believe in the healing power of comedy. So, no…I don’t think it’s too soon. I think it’s about time we heal and this shitpost is dumb enough to make me chuckle on a sad day.
