i think the problem is not to make synthetic eggs. that should already be possible, at least in theory. you can take a normal egg cell and then replace the nucleus (that contains the DNA) with the nucleus from another cell. There: custom egg cell.
The problem is more, what comes next? The egg has to grow in a biological woman; i’m quite sure that we’re really far away from machine-baby-carrying.
so you would still need a person to carry the egg around, and currently, that’s actually the bigger problem (at least legally).
