Road adjacent coffee stands without seating are probably the most common business here in vietnam, it works because its only for pedestrians, bicycles, and motorbikes, I’ve never seen a car stopped at one, blocking traffic.

Espresso machines are very uncommon at homes and buisnesses in the US.

If someone is waiting in a Starbucks drive thru for a drip coffee they are insane.

No doubt someone does this, but the majority are getting something a bit more complex. Not necessarily good since it is still Starbucks after all, but still

I make my own coffee at home, but this whole thread about shaming people for going to a coffee shop is crazy to me. Even if they want drip coffee, who cares?

I mean you can overpay for drip coffee at the union busting corporate shop if you want.

There are certainly better more affordable places with a drive thru, but sure

Well drip coffee is easy to make at home, i.e the equipment is cheap. An espresso machine and a grinder cost a lot more money, making getting overpriced Starbucks coffee a much more attractive proposition than with drip.
