I recommend an immediate anarchist revolution, dismantling the state and giving control of the means of production to labour unions and the employees at the businesses who use them. In transitioning to a moneyless and stateless gift economy, we can turn to the experts in gift economics: Indigenous Australians, who have 65,000 years of experience in moneyless economics and the cultural constructs which support such a system. Things will not be the same as they were before colonisation. They will be something new, something we can discover together, if we learn from the past.
It does help to see people aware of the issues, even if they don’t know how to personally solve the problems caused by massive, global, centuries-old patterns we’re in the middle of. I don’t know about you but I’d go nuts if I thought I was alone over here.
