Apparently pre-rinsing confuses the dishwasher or something. Not doing it leaves me with residue all over the other dishes though 🤷

Not for washing. Usually there will be settings like quick wash, normal, heavy and “pots and pans”. There is a high temp and low temp option, but that is for drying the dishes.
It’s not like you need to follow commercial requirements like DIN EN 17735, but that feels so weird to depend so much on the faucets temperature. I can just click a button and get a 70c+ wash or whatever, I wouldn’t get that high from my faucet…
