Vaping is very safe. Vaping can be very effective and getting people off smoking. And there are powerful interests arrayed against them for various reasons.
Take the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement. Ever since then Big Tobacco pays off states. The more cigarettes they sell, the more the state profits. And then they leveraged or borrowed money against those future profits. Then vaping comes along and threatens that. What do you think their motivation is? A moral one? Or are they going to do what is best for themselves?
I don’t know exactly what the dysfunction at the WHO is but it’s probably related to nicotine replacement therapies which make pharma good money. Or it’s related to anti-smoking zealotry, a kind of fanaticism. But their recommendations have led to a lot of countries banning vaping outright while cigarette smoking and deaths continues. You might disagree with calling this murder. I have no such qualms.
