“You Can See Everything,” the documentary co-directed by Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder, is a breakthrough success. It follows Elizabeth Holmes, the convicted founder of Theranos, just weeks before she goes to prison. The intimate access and the questions it raises are the talk of this fall movie season. Jeffrey Brown sat down with Alissa Wilkinson for our arts and culture series, CANVAS.

“Off-the-charts bonkers, a movie that defies categorization,” just some of what critics are saying of a film filled with plot twists, unexpected turns, no spoilers here, and questions of truth and perception.

It’s because “you can see everything”. I’m sure Nathan asked if he could film him in the shower as a joke. Billy and Elizabeth are allegedly participating in the documentary in order to be transparent, and being naked is being (physically) transparent.

This was addressed in an interview. Allegedly it was Billy’s suggestion. I got the impression that ‘transparency’ was the excuse, but the real reason is he just wanted to show off and seem transparent. Especially since he comes off as the most opaque one in the whole film IMO.
