Seems like an appropriate place to being up the film Motivational Growth. Super fun movie, Jeffery Combs does voicework for a sentient pile of mold, great bit of psychological/lovecraftian absurdity. One of those “what the fuck did I just watch?” kind of flick.
You said that and all I could think of was The House.
I forgot about that one, great movie, I need to give it a rewatch. Stop motion is an underutilized medium for the genre that I’d really like to see more of.
I’m still not sure how I feel about it, but it was memorable!
I feel like that was the goal of the film.
I think my favorite line in the movie was

But you’re my dentist. Why wouldn’t I call you?
Given that proper tooth management is critical to rat survival - if their teeth aren’t constantly worn down they will grow until they can’t eat anymore - their dentist would be their most important care provider.
Except mushrooms aren’t vegetables.
Vegetable isn’t a scientific term. Which is why tomato can be considered a vegetable while botanically being fruit.

You’re a vegetable. And/or a mushroom.
Certainly a fun-gi
Around 3% of all mushrooms species are poisonous. Dude just throw the dices
Dices isn’t a word. Dice is plural. Die is the singular.
That seems wrong, unless by poisonous you mean deadly? Most mushrooms give you some sort of stomach ache
It’s hard to tell from photos, but given they’re guaranteed to be saprotrophic (breaking down wood) and look to have decurrent gills + a certain size + grey/brown caps, i can’t think of anything they could be other than oysters (UK-based)
oysters are definitely one of the more common mushrooms to find in water damaged buildings. though they might absorb all kinds of poisonous compounds from the buildings they grow in so needless to say best to not eat them.
Absolutely true. Even in the wild some edible fungi can be toxic on the wrong soil/substrate e.g. amethyst deceivers are bioaccumulators of arsenic
