I love wireless earbuds. I know they’re not cheap like the wired ones are. Listening to music while you’re working out is better wirelessly. Talking on the phone is better. I get that tech companies are forcing us to adopt less free standards but I would never go back to wired earbuds.

I agree. Wireless buds are great. As are wired. Back in the day no one forced you to choose one.

And if you want to you still don’t have to choose between the two. You have to choose between phones that let you use both and phones that make you use wireless.

You do, actually. Because 98% of modern phones don’t have them. But you already know this.

            Suuuuure… keep telling yourself that.

I don’t use ear buds, I use cans. Sony XM4s. Can use BT or Wired. Absolutely fantastic for when your headset battery runs out and still need to listen to good audio

What cheap? They sound flat no matter how much you pay and good (wired) in-ear start at 80 €. If you’re satisfied with wireless that’s nice but the friction isn’t only in the price.

That said, a good USB-C DAC beats any phone’s DAC by 10 miles.

Great for you if you can afford expensive Wireless buds or cans, and don’t have to deal with drop outs, interference and unpairing issues, audio quality issues, and when their batteries run out, like to have a port to connect to to keep listening, not to mention if your wireless buds are charging you can pull out a cheap set of wired buds to keep listening.

You limit yourself to Wireless and are happy. Great. What about the rest of the population that aren’t happy?
