Crazy progress happening crazy fast. Some people are already porting Switch 2 games to PC via AI recompilation.
Plus, someone earlier shared Mario Kart World running on Switch 1 (albeit buggy and incomplete).

Climate change is also already here, should we stop giving a fuck about it and deregulate fossil fuels? “You cannot escape AI” is such a common thought-terminating cliche it gives me a migraine.
My point is; whether we want it or not, it will not suddenly disappear. It exists and it will always exists.
But anyway, keep being upset about everything related to AI. That will do good for your health, I suppose.
I would get upset if someone was smoking in the same room as me, for the same reason. Smoking will not suddenly disappear. That’s no reason to accept it as something good.
Fair point. Though, I wouldn’t mind that either despite not being a smoker. We are just different and have different opinions and that’s okay.
Anyway, lets see where this Switch 2 emulation is going (or not). I’m curious what is going to happen, will Nintendo go madman again?
In this specific case, part of me actually wants the emulation (or at least the games decompilation) to be done with corporate AI, so that Nintendo can go nuclear on whatever company was its provider.
So true. “You cannot escape AI” is simply not true as there are many FOSS projects explicitly banning usage of LLMs. By thinking this way you just give up to even trying fighting against it. This is such a defeatist logic and harmful to FOSS ecosystem in general.
Good luck running any of those FOSS projects when all operating systems are made using LLM code these days. Linus Torvalds explicitly allows such code.
NetBSD, RedoxOS and some explicitly declines LLM contributions, while both not using Linux as a kernel for their operating system! I do know there are fewer and fewer ground to stand but at least we can try.
rustcpermits LLM code. LLVM/clangpermits LLM code. GCC permits LLM use if the code itself is not LLM generated.Yeah, good luck actually getting to run these OSes when all compilers allow LLMs in some for or another.
Edit: Mesa also allows LLM contributions. Try any usable graphics output without Mesa.
