having a child with infinite curiosity looking up to you is one of the most wonderful experiences a human life can provide.

Cherish it, it will be over before you know it and you’ll never be able to go back

I miss the days when my nephew would actively ask me for fun facts. He loved maths as well and we’d just do maths for fun. We watched a video about Rayo’s number and he was fascinated with it for months.

His little sister knew the planets at the age of 2.

      “What’s this planet?”
      “Papata.”
      “What’s this one?”
      “Taturn.”

When you asked her what the sun was made of, she said, “Hot burning gases.” My little nerd 😢

It is both the most amazing and most exhausting feeling of all time.

It’s so wonderful to watch them experience the world for the first time.

And also exhausting to keep up and prevent them from hurting themselves.

A couple weeks ago we went to the science mus, they had a Dino exhibit and my nephew never grew out of that.

In any case we were pretty much the only ones there, and there was a lady who certainly knew about dinosaurs answering my nephew’s questions for three hours. I’m not sure if she was staff or Ike a volunteer, it was far from boring stuff.

In any case, one of the other museum staff people and apologized for her- “sorry she gets really passionate…”

I’m like “are you kidding me?!”

(The only problem is that he’s totally going to hijack science class again and spit Dino facts for the entire period. Which I’m okay with, because his teacher is a YEC, so, yeah.)

Permission to punch the guy who “apologized” for her in the face?

That lady is one of the few things that makes this world enjoyable, she shared her love and knowledge and passion. that’s priceless.

She also had a gift for science communication, which is incredibly important these days.

Curiosity is a skill and she definitely helps nurture that in everyone who went to the exhibit.

We were very sure to name drop her in a review of the exhibit. We had a lot of fun and a lot of that had to do with her carrying the exhibit. (Well. Maybe not carry, it was still a great exhibit,)

I could really do without the random math quizzes everyday at 6am.

“Hey dad, when I’m your age how old will you be? Ok how old will my sister be? Will papa be alive and how old will he be?”

My responses: “I’ll probably be dead. She’ll be 4 years older than you. Papa might not make it another year because he eats like garbage has diabetes and heart issues.”

    “Will I get diabetes?”

“Dude I just want to finish making this coffee.”

    “What’s the biggest number?”

    “Jesus Christ”
