Crap. Am I just an alt? I have all these memories of an actual life outside of Lemmy…
why would you need an alt account?
Different instances have different federations, so it makes sense to have a few accounts scattered around different instances. Sometimes instances also go down or are slow, so it’s good to have a backup somewhere else (my main account used to be on programming.dev, but it had server issues all the time so I no longer bother going there).
Oh, and as others have mentioned, porn. I personally also have an alt I use when I get a bit too verbose right after taking my adderall haha

I do not have alt account on Lemmy, I’ll have you know. All like 25 of my accounts were made to be main accounts… I just
distroserver hopped until I found one I liked lolI think this is my 2nd account… the first one was on a server or whatever that ended up shutting down.
Obviously I’m being hyperbolic, but it does feel like this sometimes.
I dig the culture, I think the dozens of you out there are fine people and I appreciate the tone the majority has established of being open-minded and inclusive.
