Well. I would have been interested in donating canned goods for charity, but not like this. This is a terrible idea.

I wish my grandmother were still alive. She’d be the type to go down there and play along with me.

“Hi, I’d like to trade in my 103 year old grandmother for $5.”

And then we both poker face our way through a gamestop employees reactions.

Stores are supposed to then take what they’ve received and donate it to a local charity. The workers have to figure out what charity they’ll partner with, and have to do the leg work of coordinating the donations themselves.

And let me guess, they’re either expected to do this in their free time or not miss their targets if they do it during work

Well the upper management wont have to deal with the mess so they’re fine with putting it all on the employees that they’ll be exploiting that day

      Silly, they’re exploited every day.

… Though that day will be particularly… exploity…

It was a dumb idea from the beginning, trying to be an electronics pawn shop. Only the trade-ins are just as worthless as the game ones were.

The number of memestock bros who still hype Gamestop despite all the massive missteps they’ve made in the last few years is fucking unreal. They desperately meme “diamond hands” when they’re fucking bagholders.

The memestock thing started because people realized they could try to make a quick buck by betting against those who were shorting the stock. But the stock was being heavily shorted for a reason, GameStop is a dying business, one that likely would’ve gone bankrupt by now if the apes hadn’t rushed to prop it up. Anyone who didn’t cash out at the peak, anyone who seriously believes GameStop has a long-term future, is a sucker.

I can imagine some of the absolutely disgusting things that will be brought in from this. It’s already bad enough without a day to bring in “anything”. Too bad the executives in charge of these dumb ideas never have to put up with this crap.
