I don’t watch many comic book or videogame movies but sonic 3 (not 1 or 2 for whatever reason) my kids love and we watch it all the time. Jim Carrey is great in it, the other actors do their jobs, though have little to do, and it’s not too cheesy or full of gross humor. Idris Elba plays against type as as a dumb brute. Ben Schwartz walks the line between sassy and obnoxious well. Surprised they are spinning off instead of doing sonic 4 with the girl sonic like is teased at the end. I haven’t seen a TMNT since the back in time one but I have heard the quality dropped after that 90s trilogy.
Nah, Sonic 3 is unironically the best movie out of that trilogy, and maybe the best video game movie, which is wild because most movie series drop off in quality after the first.
Like I never really played Sonic Adventure 2, but the scene when Live & Learn finally plays for real was honestly such an amazing scene.
Hopefully 4 meets the bar set by 3 then. it is odd to have such a strong third act. Although lots of people will argue that ROTJ and Revenge of the Sith were the best of their respective trilogies (I agree on episode 3 but definitely not on ROTJ)
Mario 3 is also my favorite of those games. I guess for every Sonic 3 there are a few Airbuds playing soccer out there to water down the third of three.
The recent animated TMNT movie (Mutant Mayhem) was actually a whole lot of fun, as was the series bridging the gap between that movie and the next one.
It caught a lot of shit from racist neckbeards who were angry that April O’Neil was no longer a tall big tittied redhead twice the age of the turtles. The film had her short, black, and a bit chubby, and hoooo boy so many fucking loser ass nerds couldn’t handle that at all.
Anyway, I am looking forward to the new TMNT animated film.
I think the style they used for the animation in the film was up there with the Spiderverse movies but didn’t get nearly as much attention for its quality.
I’ll check it out. Thanks for the explanation, without the context of the Internet complaints I would probably have just taken at face value the pile on bad reviews. I played a TMNT arcade during Halloween and I think it was called mutant mayhem as well. Must have been a tie in thing.

Don’t worry.
They are. Gotta spinoff fast. :)
It’s rare I don’t read the article but this time it got me! Glad to see it though
