Is anyone even going to watch it? I guess fans of the actors maybe, but I doubt I’m alone in being a former fan of Gaiman’s who’s lost all interest in his work since his rapist behaviour came to light.

He wrote the tv adaptation and the 2nd (and 3rd?) season/s are his work as pTerry is dead.

And even if a new writer was brought on to make 3, it’s still an intellectual property that’s irrevocably linked to Gaiman now.

I guess I don’t feel like they are that associated. The tv series is much better than the book ever was, at least to me.

And here I mean the gay angel and demon of course, along with gabriel. Some of the worst aspects of the show are lifted wholesale from the books like the bizarre fantasy “relationship” (prophesy-driven boning?) between the sexiest witch alive and the failure. Pratchett’s influence probably stopped the book from being worse than it was. He doesn’t seem to ever write sexy things into his stories, so I have to assume this was Gaiman doing some fantasy writing.

I did also check and it looks like he was removed prior to s2. Doesn’t completely remove him but…clearly I’m not a hard liner on this.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the book was wrapped up in S01 wasn’t it? I’m trying to remember if I saw S02 and if it was essentially new material?

Yes, only S1 was from the book. S2 and the finale/S3 is new material but Neil Gaiman said it was something he and Pratchett had planned/talked about. S3 was in development when Gaiman’s allegations came out so instead of a full season to wrap it up they made it just 1 longer episode, which I think is unfortunate as I’ve loved the series.

      It was.

Gaiman and Pratchett had started planning a sequel, but it never advanced past the early stages. Gaiman decided they couldn’t jump straight into the sequel concept in season 2 so that season is new material that bridges the gap.
