To be eligible for consideration, shows must have accumulated a minimum of 60 episodes across a minimum of five seasons and demonstrated continued or sustained relevance, influence or inspiration.
Are you asking me? I’m very glad I don’t have to decide this because I’d just give it to every franchise I personally like.
(I would indeed say Buffy has had lasting impact beyond just “female teen hero” but Trek’s impact is probably more widespread. But obviously Doctor Who needs to win this every year, duh - which is why you can only get the award once)
Okay, so here’s what comes to my mind.
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer lasted over five seasons, had a spin off [Angel] that lasted five seasons, spawned a few comic books and novels.
Would you say they’ve had a lasting cultural impact?
Supergirl and Wonder Girl were teen heroes before her, heck so was Nancy Drew.
Should Buffy get this award?

I’m putting it out for general discussion.

Here’s an oldie but goodie. Obviously Vampira was a huge influence on TV and the culture in general.
