One of my friends is going through a divorce and one of the reasons his wife gave us is that he would sit in his car in the driveway and look at his phone for a bit when he got home. There are other reasons but that one stuck out to me.

Yeah. That’s my personal indicator that there’s something wrong with my work setup; avoiding doing the thing that leads to the unpleasant parts. I guarantee he started hiding in his car after the relationship issues began.

That was all the salesmen at one place I worked. Mormons with tons of kids. They’d go anywhere in the world to get away from them.

In the early nineties I knew a Mormon man with a happy housewife & 10 kids and he would run a marathon by himself every day just to be out of the house.

To be fair, parenting is a pretty shitty gig. Expectations are high and support is low. People judge everything you do, especially those who have never done it themselves. Even with good kids its a thankless slog most of the time. God help you if you get a hard one.

Nope. It’s a trans-generational ploy since time immemorial. The worst ones are the bosses who ask you to stay so they don’t have to go home, but it can happen to anyone.

Yeah but who are the bosses currently mainly from? Exactly, boomers. Also, younger generations rather tend to break up instead of enduring a bad relationship/marriage.

Get a job and you’ll see most bosses aren’t boomers

You could also just look stuff up but making stuff up is fun too
