DHS is expanding its use of administrative subpoenas, which don’t come from judges.

Are there bot commentors on Lemmy?

I just migrated, don’t really know all the ins and outs yet.

Most that hit Lemmy are pretty damn obvious and get banned quickly by mods and instance admins.

So far the slightly more complex reddit style ones haven’t been turned on us yet. Probably don’t think the smaller userbase is worth the effort.

I suspect these more advanced Reddit bots are given some kind of special access via private APIs or other backend integration from the Reddit staff / devs themselves.

Which they won’t get here. Of course, the whole thing is open source, so they could modify that as needed and run it on their own instances. Of course, those instances would then be easy to spot and defederate. And on and on.

Sometimes I think there are provacateurs on here, saying we should do something about so and so and so forth. Trying to do the old FBI trick of creating terrorism where there isn’t any.
