I can’t think of anything that’s not extremely old, like Karate Champ from 1984, which was basically generic white gi guy vs generic red gi guy. Female cast members are always among the most popular, and are therefore staples just for marketing. The $ale$ figures from Chun-Li costumes that Capcom makes from Street Fighter are legendary. And how many people actually play games in stand up arcade cabinets these days? Particularly fighting games. I mean they do exist, especially in arcade resurgences like Round1, but the video game parts are pretty niche, even among niche arcade game players. Most sales and plays of fighting games are on home consoles, with some activity on PC/Steam. Maybe this panel says something about the age of the artist, if they think video games are played in arcades. Maybe not. But certainly it betrays a lack of knowledge about the history and current state of fighting games.
