I’ve 100% all 5 previous games. I’m not buying this.
Why not?
120? For a game that will melt systems? For a game not yet done?
We have got to stop this horseshit. Early access is fine for a small team, solo dev, etc. Especially if it’s early access prices. But this?! Fuck no.
To clarify: it’s not ‘early access’ as in an unfinished mess.
It’s early access, because the premium edition lets you play four days earlier. The base version of the game releases monday, but if you bought the premium version with the future DLC, you got to play it on friday as an added bonus.
But yes, agreed, ‘early access’ as in selling unfinished games needs to stop. It’s an incentive for devs to take the money and run.
5 was pretty buggy for a few weeks when it launched
future dlc? that’s not yet done makes what you purchased an unfinished mess. ;)
Also, a racing game without VR support? What is even the point of that.
Assetto Corsa ftw
120 dollars for a game!
Who is paying for early access?
Always wanted to try Forza but I’ve never ever seen it on sale at a reasonable price.
you can now try the earlier ones with xenia (horizon 1 is cringe inducing for me, but the driving is good, motorsport is a gran turismo ripoff, but more forgiving, especially with rewind)
FH4 was heavily discounted before it was removed from stores (because of license deals), so FH5 will most likely get the same treatment, although it might take a few more years (and FH6 much later after that).
I tried the last one on $1 game pass. Came back after a few months, everything was locked behind DLC. never again sail the seas. Never loose content
As someone who played a lot of FH5 on Game Pass, that never happened. The DLCs added new content, they never took away existing content and locked it behind the DLC. You must have misunderstood something.
I bought Forza Horizon 4 on sale for $20 last year. I think it came with all the DLC or whatever. That seemed like a good price. I played a bunch and I’d say it was worth it. The game really pushes you to pay more money to buy more things, but I just ignored it.
Overall $20 felt right.
I’d buy Forza Horizon 6 or whatever for $20 in a few years.
In bought forza 4 last year too… but I had to buy it from a third party code seller, as it was removed from storefronts for no apparent reason. It’s such a good game, pulling it was a dumb move.
they pull all forzas, because of some license agreements
Yeah at most you get 50%
And that’s why paying to access games a few days early will sadly stay, even though they are not paying to access early, they are paying to keep others out.
I guarantee the ones who paid 2x the value of the base game just for those 4 early days is a minority. Most people paid to get “the whole package” with dlc, car pass and whatnot, the 4 early days being just a welcome perk. But yes, sadly the early access bullshit is unlikely to go away - streamers will always want a head start and microsoft will happily charge them for it.
If people would have rejected that whole idea of accessing early when it first came up, FH6 would still have been released today… for everyone. And honestly, paying for unreleased DLC doesn’t make it better.
“If all gamers stood together against this then we could’ve had the game(s) 4 days early” is fairly wild speculation, but I agree that between this, VIP packs, wheelspins and season passes FH does have its share of dark patterns.
I got it for the expansions and such. The early access is a bonus though.
Or you could just pirate the leaked version.

Can that version play online?
Yes.
A… friend played online before release on linux with a PS5 controller. It felt sick, he said.
Apparently yes

The fitgirl repack includes an online fix. Haven’t tried it though.
Actually the game launched at 120 Dollars. And 4 days later game is on discount.
I’m planning on getting the base game (after getting the top-tier version the last 3 releases) but not until the pgg minigames are added back, and hopefully yes it goes on sale when it drops for all users.
$70 is too much money for a game. $120 is absolutely insane.
70 is sale if we assume 120 is the release price. That’s what I meant.
Won’t drop that low for 3+ years, that’s what happened with 4 and 5. Prob 70 to 50, 100 to 80, 120 to 100 at all steam seasonal sales 6mo+ after launch.
FH4 and FH5 premium did drop by half after about 3y ( bought FH4 premium for 35€ and FH5 premium was 45€, but bought it bundled win FM for 60 so I suppose 30€ each ). So there is a chance - problem is they started selling new cars as extra car packs and FH5 had like twelve. So if you wanted the “complete” premium it would’ve been at least 70€.
It will go even lower. Here are some price records for Forza Horizon 5, from SteamDB:
SteamDB lowest recorded price is 29,99€ at -50%
Price seen 26 times, last on Apr 16, 2026 (30 days ago)
Yeah, for the base game. That started at $60 though not $70, and it didn’t hit those discounts until a couple of years into it, if I remember correctly. Game was already in maintenance mode by that point.
I just had an idiot defend this kind of model because people should be free to spend their money in whatever they want and realized that the videogame market we have is the videogame market we deserve.
This kind of stunts keep happening because people not only allow but incentivize them by rewarding the ones making them. I’m so lucky to be a patient gamer without an interest for the AAA market…
Again, it’s not early access. It’s the general release date. Anyone can get access for $120. It is a general release date
No VR support. I’ll stick to assetto

People like death to Gazans. They’re so eager to support it.
If you’re trying to get support for anything, that’s a pretty bad way to do it. You can’t expect people to respond well to “you’re using a Microsoft product so you’re complicit in genocide”
Maybe start by explaining a bit of the problem instead of posting a link. If you expect people to be aware of every issue you will never get anywhere. And assigning guilt to people when all they wanted was to play a game is pretty bad too
I was going to +1 your comment for the link, but that statement is just reductive. You won’t convince others to join the cause with such generalisations.
This is why boycotting fails for real issues, but succeeds for the dumbest imaginable.
