How can an anarchist be authoritarian? Anarchy seeks to abolish all institutions and authoritarianism is institutions on steroids so they seem mutually incompatible to me.
I’m not saying some subset of anarchists are authoritarian (you are right, none of them are authoritarian), I’m saying that Anarchism can get lumped in with Marxist-Leninism under the concept of ‘Far-left’ with horseshoe theory.
Horseshoe theory makes it seem like being on the far-left is authoritarian. I would put forward that any authoritarian ideology is in fact right-wing, and the true Far-left are Anarchists/Left-Libertarians, which the stethoscope theory makes more clear by separating out the tankies.
you have no authority on deciding what left is, true nature of far left is clear since the first internationale. Anarchism is a mainly first world white people ideology that has no substance on ground and is non existence in third world because its moralist and not scientific. Tankies are real far left and they are good.
You have to have the political education of a 5 year old to claim that the far right and the far left are similar. Even centrists think the theory is horseshit:
Given the basic implausibility of the horseshoe theory, why do so many centrist commentators insist on perpetuating it? The likely answer is that it allows those in the centre to discredit the left while disavowing their own complicity with the far right. Historically, it has been “centrist” liberals – in Spain, Chile, Brazil, and in many other countries – who have helped the far right to power, usually because they would rather have had a fascist in power than a socialist.
It’s if reference to one supporting fascism, and the other idolizing fascist leaders, surely you have to have the education of a 5 year old to know that.
Beyond that, yeah, similarities end. This is in direct context to what OP posted, which is discussing dictators in particular.
Meh, it’s horseshoe-esque ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Horseshoe theory doesn’t account for Anarchists who are far left, but not authoritarian.

Lol, I love that you’re telling me I have no authority, then telling me the approved facts I should believe.
You are disrespecting our comrades who sacrificed so much for those socialist projects by calling them right wing without any logic.

Centrists are the only ones that subscribe to horseshoe theory

Its funny i was thinking about this when I saw the post.
I can imagine if you posted that on truth social you might also get some downvotes, but perhaps not to that extent.
Any comment with the word tankie is going to get downvoted on .ml
