We had a peer set to interview at C.F that morning, right as the disaster started. He’d missed a ferry and that caused him to be late for his interview. Just as well.
A number of our friends commuted through that site every morning at the same time. Luckily, they all eventually reported in, but we’d thought they were affected directly for a lot of the day.
I like the good 'ol fashioned 5/8 inch rubber heater hose. About 2 or so feet of it. It’s stiffer and a bit heavier than a section of regular garden hose. It’ll take alot longer than a lead pipe.
With a toddler! I wedged a little TV between the seats, facing backwards, and played a video of Cathy Rigby’s legendary performance of Peter Pan, over and over, all the way down, and all the way back. By the time we got home, I had the entire thing memorized, and I had never actually SEEN it.
I was supposed to fly, with my whole family, later that morning. We drove instead.
